The majestic 'io, or Native Hawaiian Hawk, is an endangered species that inhabits Hawai'i's 'ōhi'a forests. Hawai'i's historic 'Iolani Palace was named after Alexander Liholiho Keawenui 'Iolani (Kamehameha IV), who was called 'Iolani or Exalted Hawk. Today Hawai'i's 'ōhi'a forests, home to the 'io and many other native species, are at risk because of a disease called Rapid Ohia Death which decimates the 'ōhi'a trees. A portion of all 'ōhi'a themed prints will be donated to preserve the 'ōhi'a forests.
8X10" watercolor print on high quality watercolor paper. (Print only, no mat or frame)
