ABOUT ME
ALOHA! I'm Trudi Galera, a writer and artist creating what I love in my home studio in Honolulu, Hawai'i!
I was born and raised in Hawai'i, and have spent most of my career as an educator working with children and adults of all ages. I still teach writing and art to children and am an Educational Consultant for The Learning Mindset, a resource for creative curriculum development. As a teacher, I was always looking for ways to excite people and engage their whole minds. I have found that at every age, people resonate with a good story, so much of what I create is designed to tell a story- -or in the case of jewelry and textile design, help people express who they are by telling their own story!
My passion for writing and painting led me to illustration for children, but I also love other creative projects such as writing for audiences of all ages, jewelry design and wax carving for jewelry casting, textile and surface design and even sculpting fondant and gum paste for fanciful cakes. I guess you can say that creating and storytelling, in any medium, is what I love best! I hope you enjoy the stories, characters and themes that permeate all of my art, and that it brings you as much joy as it does me!
